Abergavenny Ionwen

Abergavenny Ionwen

When movement matters

Abergavenny Ionwen. Halfsister to our Abergavenny Countess as they both have Abergavenny Welsh Lady as their dam.

Her sire is Pennal Welsh Comet, who is linebred on Gwenllan Blodwen and Gwenllan Sali. Her lines offers more than that, with the legend Derwen Railway Express.

When we first saw Ionwen as a young foal, she took our breath away, she was and still is a spectacular mover, just what we were looking for to retain at stud. Her movement comes all natural to her, they are powerfull and far above normal standard.

Ionwen herself is an awfully kind mare, she always tries to please and do what she thinks is asked of her. She is positive minded and curious. If something frightens her, it won’t take her long to see that there is nothing to be afraid about. She is so brave and cool.
