Adlais Freja Sukkerchok is a welsh cob filly, by our first class broodmare mare Adlais Queen of Custard. The sire of Freja is our sweet stallion Abergavenny Joshua, who, among others, is the father of last year’s foal Adlais Groovy Baby, who was awarded the WPCA association’s bronze medal, for, winning the title of best in show at Funen Foal Show 2023.

Why her name Adlais Freja “sugarshock”? Well, it’s tradition with Queens foals, that they get dessert-sounding names, something with cake, something sweet or whatever you want to crave.

We were visiting Victoria Pommer, who has Joshua with her on a daily basis. We were talking about “cute” names for the little one, to which Victoria’s daughter Freja, aged 6, said that she could also be called sugar shock, which we thought was a great idea. After a good night’s sleep, we decided that the little brunette’s name should be Freja sugarshock, but spelled in Danish (sorry friends).
